Nothing Seems Real Anymore

Since I last wrote there has been a number of incidents which caused me to maker the afore mentioned statement. Firstly my favorite subject "Tony Blair" Once again he has proved that he is
a Walter Mitty type character. Who is living in his own version of fairy land.
He has produced his memoirs that are full of, it is alleged misquotes, taken from other sources, I for one am inclined to believe the accusations, based on past performance. The Pakistan cricket team has yet again been involved in match fixing. Gordon Brown finally surfaced having convinced himself that he has saved the world. He now wants to do good for the less fortunate in this world. Funny is it not, that in every case. Whenever some one in authority has done some damage he or she will not own up to it.But suddenly find God and align themselves to some sought of charity organisation and try to redeem themselves. It would be much better if they did not do the damage in the first place. Meanwhile we still continue to waste money on public enquiries. Allowing legal aid to those who should not receive it and the presidential race beginning to fire up again in the states the front runner being that idiot Sarah Paolin. To top it all we now have a character who barracked the NHS to have a gastric band fitted and now wants to sue the NHS because he do's not like it.IT's no wonder I made the afore mentioned statement.

The Panic is setting in.

There has been a lot of action this last week. Not only nature, trying to get it's own back. But our two most famous back stabbers are getting their knickers in a twist.

Blair tries to ease his conciense by offering hush money to the British Legion. Meanwhile the day moves nearer when Blair and Brown will appear in the dock to explain themselves, firstly over the death of Dr kelly but also for their conduct which has brought about the death of over 500 of our superior youngster while allow the dregs of humanity to roam the streets, vandalising, terrorising, stealing and wasting the time of the police, ambulance crews, doctors and nurses and costing a fortune to apprehend, sometimes detain, always treat which is a terrible amount of money that could be better spent making sure that our troops in afganistan recieve the correct equipement and treatment. After all they deserve it. The scum on the street dshould be left to rot.

You have got to Laugh!

I know I spend a Lot of Time Rabitting about The Labour Party. But you have got to laugh. . There was an article in the Daily Mail discussing the the Prime Ministers that this country has had. The article concluded with what the author of this prize piece of literature. Considered to be the three best Prime Ministers These being Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher and Clement Atlee. well I have no argument with the first two choices, but do us a favour. This is the man who took over when this country was basically on it's knees and deeply in debt. He subsequently drove the country even further into debt by Nationalizing steel,Docks,Railways,Transport, Airports and the Health Service. Having paid out millions in compensation payments, and giving power to the Unions. Thus allowing them to hold the country to ransom, in fact we came very close to becoming a Russian satellite.. Hang on! have we not heard about similar practices else where and in each of these incidents. Were they not also a Labour Government? I rest my Case.

IT's Getting Better!

Thing are looking up, it is getting more and more likely that Tony Blair and his henchmen will at some point in the not to distant future be hauled in front of some committee, enquiry or Court of Law, To account for the questionable decisions that were made during his term as Prime Minister. Meanwhile although there is still to much killing of our forces in Afganistarn, a least we have a pointer towards an end to this futile war. We now have a Prime Minister who has not got connections with RADA who tells it as it is, with out the theatricals and the use of well rehearsed scripts. Who is human in so much as although has made the occasional slip, he obviously speaks from the heart. .A man of conviction who despite his up binging has the common touch. He seems to have been accepted by those whose opinion matters in this world which is a major plus. This will go a long way to restoring the pride and respect that is this countries rightful position in the global structure and consequently negating some of the considerable damage inflicted on this country by the previous misguided regime..It is hoped that the Liberals and right wing side of his party  will manage to control their emotions so as to allow David Cameron to complete the much needed rebuild. Good Luck David  you have stared well!

The Ship is Sinking the Crew is Fighting Amongst Themselves.

It is a great pity that it did not happen earlier, we might not have been in such a deplorable state.
What am I talking about? THE LABOUR PARTY of course. I have always considered that the Labour Party, of being made up of a Mis Match of Mis Fits and once again they are demonstrating that is exactly what they are.

We are now seeing the true animal , now that the under belly is exposed. We have learned that Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, Mandelson. Cambell, Charlie Weedon did not get on. (What a surprise)  Whilst they were fighting each other they were selling us down the river with their apologising for the actions of our fore fathers, Creating false situations. Such as maintaining that they had brought peace to Northern Ireland., by letting murderers out of prison. Once again we can see how well it has worked, can't we? Tony Blair, convinced that he has done a great job. Turns his attention to foriegn pastures, believing he now has a mandate for bringing world peace. And throws himself into his self appointed role of peace keeper in Iraq, Afganistan and Palastine. Leaving the rest of his party to wander around leaderless, whilst allowing a complete charlatan to make a total mess of the country. Meanwhile the remnants of his party put their nose in the trough whilst the going was good. Oblivious to the fact that the cream of our youngsters are dyeing for their country fighting a useless cause. I long for the day when this self opinionated man is brought before the courts in order  to answer for his actions. If I had the money I would gladly start the procedures myself. You never know perhaps somebody might back me. Any one reading this would no doubt be thinking that I hate the man. I do not hate anybody in fact I find it difficult  to understand how hatred becomes established. I do however find him a dispicable man.

Micaba's Observations: Is the USA right?

Micaba's Observations: Is the USA right?

Is the USA right?

The Americans are up to their usual tricks, dictating to the rest of us, by and large they are very nice people. Especially when everything is going there way, but when something upsets them then watch out world. They like to be top dog and woe be tide us if they are not.The oil leakage in the Gulf of Mexico is a case in point, America has probably caused more pollution through out the world than any other Nation. And in nearly every case they have walked away from it. The Union Carbide case in India being a classical example, There are numerous examples of the damage that has been caused by the indiscriminate use of chemicals and weapons. Added to which the growing of Genetically Modified crops without  proper safe guards in place. Yet  when something  affects America then we all must stand to attention. They have forgotten or choose to ignore the fact that the  Rig involved in this incident is American, crewed by Americans, the safety equipment and procedures were American. The USA was responsible for the granting of the operating licences, consequently  they mus be responsible for the overseeing of the operating procedures. Therefore this must give them a considerable chunk of the responsibility. Yet they will not accept this, not until the inevitable movie is made. America is a great Nation with good honest nice people, yet at times they can be unreasonable and overbearing. convinced that they are always right. They are great advocates  of the stick and carrot approach.  Go in and bomb the hell out of them on day one and on day two going in with the relief packages. It's no wonder half the world dislike them.

The Sins of the Fathers are Visited on the Children

At no time has there been a more truth full saying than this one.

Lets Take Stock:=

We are in a mess! - The country is overdrawn at the bank. Thanks to a previous administration that was not only inept and irresponsible. But one that created many situations For what reasons one can only imagine. Is it for it's social conscience personal gain, or simply to rub the oppositions nose in it. ( fox hunting being a classical example). One can only summarize. What is known is the fact that a lot of time was spent apol'ogising for the actions of our fore fathers. Thus laying the ground for. A human rights bill that was introduced. a bill that is some what ambiguous to say the the least. Health and safety is open to the most ridiculous interpretation. Thus causing upset to many people. The only ones to benefit from all this legislation are the Lawyers, who have enjoyed a substantial hike in their earnings. Because of this growth in the compensation culture. Now we have thrust up on us the events of Bloody Sunday. The most expensive enquirey ever, and one that will continue to grow to epic proportions once the lawyers get into full swing. One wonders, just how much of the National Debt can be attributed to these crazy schemes. As pointed out in my original statement we the son's are left with the cleaning up.

Micaba's Observations: Yet One More Step to Restoring Public Confidence

Micaba's Observations: Yet One More Step to Restoring Public Confidence

Yet One More Step to Restoring Public Confidence

Well, it seems we may well be getting back on course. In the last few days we have had the terrible incident at Whitehaven to contend with. Yet unlike the previous regime there was no knee jerk reaction. The Labour Party would have, rushed through an ill thought out change to the gun laws,in order to catch the headlines. The previous Prime Ministers would have grabbed every opportunity to milk the situation for what it was worth. The Prime Minister did visit the area but he did not use this to obtain. Political advantage. No false demonstrations of sympathy, No staged demonstrations, just quiet respect and empathy.During this very stressful time was nice to see.

The previous administration will probably go down as one of the most inept and dis honorable governments in history. A number of Ministers being found guilty of lying, the noses in the trough incident, the use of spin doctors, the placing of ill fitted un elected, often discredited, people in positions of authority, the hiding of facts and figures and bad news. There is a lot went on that we can only imagine. However there is enough known facts to be able to make a judgement.

The Chillcot Enquiry re convenes shortly it should be given the power and the facilities, to look into all aspects so that they may make an honest and in depth report.Allowing recommendations as to what steps must now be taken. If a War Crimes tribunal is needed then so be it. This country as long championed the rights and wrongs of others, now let it champion the rights of US.

IT WAS A HARD THING TO DO

Never the less it was the right thing to do (Resign that is) David Law has made a small step in the direction of restoring values and doing the honorable thing. ( Labour Party take note ) This is one thing that they would never have considered, they were past masters at hanging on to office, whilst pointing the finger of scorn at others. He can return with his head held high, knowing hat he did the right thing. Again the previous administration should take note. Maybe Fergy should also take note. She is getting to long in the tooth to behave in the way that she does. She has always been a fun loving girl, I remember her well, when she used to visit the ships in Portsmouth Naval Base. Hopefully she will get over this one as despite the occasional foot in the mouth. She is good hearted, entertaining and I am convinced that Sara and Andrew still love each other.

Member of Parliament a Law to Themselves

Well we managed to get the General Election out of the way and what do we find. These so called honorable gentlemen, it seems are far from honorable. And whats more do not give a toss about ethics, honor or the rest of us.

We went into the election with the stench of theft, fraud, dishonesty and lying tainting the once good name of the Houses of Parliament. Only to emerge with a brand new administration. One in which both Leaders had vehemently condemned corruption. yet these representatives of the people again show their contempt by complaining about their allowances.

Here we go again, with the ink still not dry from the signature of the latest MP's signature, we find ourselves with yet another government Minister involved in fraudulent behavior. At least he has the opportunity to show the previous administration how to behave when caught by resigning. As they never quite learned or understood the concept. Failure to do so within a respectable time frame. Then show your metal,David Cameron and SACK him.

At Long Last, Some Action

Well it has been a long time, but at long last we are seeing some evidence of action. We now have a rough idea as to the actual size of the debt that New Labour has left behind. But more to the point Vince Cable ( Who is a Lib - Dem) and a former Labour MP.  A man who accepts the fact that drastic action is needed, and whats more is prepared to do something about. A man of  courage. We need more like him. Keep up the good work, Vince.

Where Do we Go From Here?

Is anyone interested in the future of this country? We have had David Cameron and Nick Clegg using fine words in order to get elected. Statements like. "We joined forces for the good of the country so that we can sought out this apalling mess" All they seem to be interested in is feathering their own nest. Particularly "Clegg" who's only interest seems to be in getting his  Liberal ideals adopted.

At no time has anyone pointed out the size of this DEBT that we will have to erradicate at some point.
I think that nobody knows just, HOW BIG IT IS.

Meanwhile the opposition this incompetent miss match, of miss fits, behave as if they have had no input into this mess that they have left behind. Promising who ever they meet, what they will give them should they be re ellected. This is how we got into this situation in the first place. This is Labour Legacy."Run up the Debt, let someone else sought out the mess, so that they stop all the flack. Because in order to do so they will have had to adopt some unpopular measures.

So what happens? Labour gets re ellected and we start  all over again.

COME ON! David Cameron and Nick Clegg lets get our priorities right let the people who ellected you the decent people of this country and the spongers, know to what extent Labour has burdened us.
So we all know just  why these unpopular measures are being taken and who is to blame. Pensioner, redundant and those who are unable to work are particularly worried.  http://www.enjoy-your-retirement/ .com attempts to keep them up to date.

New Era in Polotics

It should be a time for rejoicing, we have moved from the secret often  dictatorial style that was adopted by the previous government a government that  appeared to wanted to know about and control your thoughts and actions. A government that although it maintained that it was the champion of just causes and had  made a big play on honesty, integrity, compassion and freedom. Yet subsequently it would  appear  presided over the most disgraceful period in British Politics. With the emergence of spin doctors and unelected government  advisers. Coupled with MP's loosing the publics respect through making exaggerated  claims on expenses.. It. no wonder the public has lost heart.

A Period of Shame

We are going through a period that none of us can be proud of. In particular in the way we are governed.
Members of Parliament, indeed all Politicians, be they local government, Member of the EU or M P's.
The lies, misapropiation of priveledges and fraudulent behaviour has brought shame on us all. Being a Member of Parliament can no longer be classified as an honnerable profession. Which brings me to the present farce.

Nick (Wake up Smell the Coffee )

You are beginning to loose credibility now. And with it the possible
destruction of your party.

Labour will promise you everything to get you on side. Do you really
think that they will allow proportional representation when you are a
threat to them. You got a bigger share of the vote at the election.
Would you put into place a system that helped your opponents. Think
again? If you do decide to opt in with Labour, ask yourself are you a match for
Mandelson and Campbell? I think not.

Do the right thing and protect yourself, your Party and above all the Country.
Regards,

John Michael Backhouse

And Still They Struggle

A lot of publicity has being made about the poor equipment and the lack of it for our services. This unfortunately has always been the case. Certainly as far back as I can recall. That date being mid 1957 when I joined the forces. This problem although much more serious, still existed when I left in 1987. Mainly caused by green eyed officers and MOD personnel. Who order equipment that is totally unnecessary and often over specification, having seen it elsewhere. Usually at an American base. The two proposed aircraft carriers, with no aircraft being a classical example. Added to which the incompetence of many civil servants who could not make a serious decision if their life depended upon it. Not flagging up problems when they occur, causing an unnecessary drain on the available budget. It was ever thus. What in my opinion is much more serious issue, and nobody as yet to my knowledge, has addressed it. Is training, or should I say lack of it, of our young people. These people, the cream of our society are being sent to their death like lambs to the slaughter, by unworthy, ill informed politicians who have little interest in what is happening in Afghanistan. Preferring to feather their own nests while the opportunity still exists. These young people, and I know my next remarks will be challenged by some of them. ( I reassure you the remarks are not meant to be derogatory, but unfortunately are a fact ), are being put in a situation that our troops have never had to face before. They are being sent to fight for a cause. that few have a genuine belief in. Against a hardened, seasoned, medieval, brutal, dishonest regime. That have  entrenched traditions and beliefs. It is their country they know it well and they are not afraid to die for the cause. Our personnel by and large are young, and are not driven by the same intense inbreed patriotism.  Our troops not being as disciplined, as in the past. I know that last remark will cause an uproar so let me explain as to what I mean.. We live in a society where we're all allowed to have and encouraged to voice our opinions. Consequently the modern youth will challenge any situation that they are not happy with. This is fine under normal circumstances, but in the situation that they find themselves in Iraq and Afghanistan, it is serious. Added to which they are not receiving adequate training, being sent to the front line far to young, lacking the necessary skills. This unfortunately is right across the board. We live in the age of human rights, free speech, our youngsters being encouraged to question decisions. and act independently.. Which in a War situation, could be disastrous.  Gordon Brown, Tony Blair, George Bush and the Military Chiefs are aware of this,. yet not one of them has had the guts to stand up for our young forces. They are being sent out  daily,  ill equipped, poorly trained, inexperienced and most probably frightened, to fight a tribal people who have never been beaten in history. In an extremely hostile environment. WHY?.  When any politician or Military spokesman is asked what we are doing there. They give the woolliest of answers. We are told, it is to keep the streets of the U K safe. Well has worked as it not?. The streets are much more dangerous now, than ever before, drug addicts every where, terrorists are flocking to the cause, and we are on the verge of bankruptcy. The truth is they did not know, what they were getting into. Not having sufficient knowledge or guidance as to what could happen. Having no contingency plan, having dug this hole, they do not know how to get out of it. Mean while more and more of our high caliber young people are laying down their lives for an unjust, unknown cause. We need these young people they are our future. It is a criminal act , to have them fight and die for an unjust cause. So that a few drug addicts, criminals and scroungers can live in peace, whilst unworthy politicians claim credit. In my opinion, which I exercise my right to have one. I feel  that .Tony Blair and George Bush should be charged with \war crimes. Gordon Brown should be charged with incompetence or gross negligence ( although I suppose it can be said that events have already punished him)  I do not know how they sleep at night. I sincerely hope that the new regime can address the situation quickly.
As you might gather I feel very strongly about the whole situation.

The King is Dead Long Live the King

So the Labour Party is looking for a new leader. It would appear that they are about to attempt to resurrect the Pretty Boy look of the Blair years rather than selecting a leader who can carry the respect of bulk of the party members. Have they not learned the lesson of the past few years that beauty is only skin deep. A Rolls Royce with a clapped out engine is no use to anyone. I would have thought that a reliable, trustworthy less flashy vehicle would be a safer bet. For example Jack Straw or Alun Johnson, would have been a more suitable choice.. It will be exciting to watch what happens. My feeling is that they will them tear each other apart.

At Long Last

At Last the Conservatives and the Liberals have got their act together. But will it LAST? I personally think it is going to be very difficult, both parties are very set in their ways and the Liberals have such a complicated vetting procedure that it will be almost impossible for them to agree to anything. Thats when the crunch will come. Somehow I hope they can avoid confrontation. It will be just a bit complicated come the next election. If all is well, will they jointly claim the credit or if all is bad will each blame the other. We shall see. There is also a danger that one of the parties will devour the other.   Interesting, but does it create a stable government ?

Further Deterioration of Standards

The country is in a mess. Yet we have just had an General Election, in which each of the politicians stated quite catagoricaly  that they are will represent us by putting our interests and that of the country first. What a load of cods wallop.

On one hand we have a Prime Minister who although he maintains that he is a virtuous, deeply honest man because of  his strict  up bringing, who has maintained all along that he is a man of the people, a caring. family man. Appears to be only interested in holding onto power by what ever means he can muster.

On the other hand we have two leaders of the opposition parties who again say that their only interest is in that of the country and it's people. Yet only seem interested in protecting the interest of the party. Meanwhile the country is going down  the pan. I do not know why they bother. It has been proved over the last at least two years, that you do not need to be an elected representative to hold a position of authority, and able to make major decisions that affect us all .Lets stop this wrangling and get this country back on it's feet.Restore some pride and dignity.Back to the days when politicians did represent the people who put them there. And being largely honest people, who when they did make a mistake, did the honourable and decent thing and resigned.
